Hello Truth
Sorry I missed our zoom class this week. I am definitely a 3.
I am so thankful for our in person class last week. We closed with a game of scenarios that required us to role play and use Stagen tools. Little did I know how important that would be this week.
I had to have a conversation with a volunteer for our non profit and inform him that he cannot volunteer any more. Yes basically fire a volunteer! So I had the opportunity to to frame, to actively listen, to gove positive feedback, and to discuss intent vs impact. Ultimately I let him know that this was the end of a season. I explained that the way he behaved and interacted with the team did not align with our values of dignity and respect. I let him know I was thankful for his service and the way he cared for patients. I was not looking forward to this conversation because the volunteer is not self aware and I had to deliver some hard news. The conversation went better than expected and he received the news fairly well. I felt confident going into the awkward conversation because I felt like I had the right tools. Ultimately I recognize that this volunteer was affecting the morale of our team. I think it was the fear of disruption, but I am already hearing gratitude from my leadership team for addressing a difficult situation
