Jesus said, "Blessed are those who mourn." For a long time that never made sense to me. Why didn't he say, "Blessed are those who are happy" or "Blessed are those who rejoice."

After studying this passage, I learned that Jesus was saying we can only mourn the loss of someone if we first loved them deeply. In effect, what Jesus said was, "Blessed are those who know how to love deeply."

Thanks to Robin for reminding us today to love deeply. It is always worth it. It is the thing we will most remember in life, and the thing others will most remember us for, too.
