One insight for me from my Performance Journal entries has been how valuable the extra 1-on-1 meetings have been. Previously, I saw them as mostly unnecessary. Everyone should just understand what we are doing and then go do it (laugh). When I forced myself to schedule short meetings with individuals, I began to hear important insights that never got raised in our larger executive meetings.
