My performance journaling this week made it clear that my behavior in one instance became a self-fulfilling prophecy. In particular, I create an annual report each year that provides info on our successes plus priorities for the next year. We've done it the same way for years and it works for me. So, at a recent executive meeting, I basically said, "It's annual report time ... it seems to work well ... let me know if anyone recommends any changes." That basically means no changes.

I never created space for possible changes that I might have even liked better!

I think I will circle back on this discussion again.
