Family conversations continue to give me continually opportunities to approach with a Learner mindset!  This past week, I had multiple chances with my two teenage daughters - Hope 17, Jessica 19 - to go into the conversation as a Learner.  Not easy to stay in that place when the word "marriage" comes up!!  I found myself, though having confidence in what I believe is best, staying with patience "learning" about her recently gained confidence in "knowing" what she wants.  Though nothing is permanent in this type conversation, my intentionality to stay as a "learner" definitely prevented potential significant tension!  So a visit home from college ended with zero tension, which is not always the case I have "learned!"  Jill & I believe God has given us these beautiful children to raise to follow their dreams, not just ours.  Still isn't easy!! :)
