Week 3 eJournal Tammy Smith 05 Mar 2015 04:52 UTC

I have really been working on Attention Management. Focusing on 1 thing at a time has been a challenge, yet incredibly powerful! I am actually shocking myself with what I am able to complete in a condensed, uninterrupted time frame. I can close a task & move on & actually feel really good about the clarity & work I put in. Prior to this method, I would hastily go through a task, with partial attention, and reflect back questioning myself if it was good enough work.

I have implemented order to my email chaos. It has served me well thus far as I no longer have to sort through nonsense to get to the important messages-what a time saver!

As for bringing awareness to the Attention Zones Model, I feel this will be a work in progress. We, as a team, will work our way out of the Reactive Zone as we pave way for more Proactive Zone time-which we are currently in the process of incorporating. I have already scheduled a few time blocks to begin this week. I will eventually spend less time being reactive & distracted & more time being proactive! My small group agreed that we haven’t had any time to be in the waste zone-we’re too busy fighting fires in the Reactive Zone- all through the days & nights. Even weekends!

I met with my Nerium small group & we have committed to implementing Attention Management actions in order to all be on the same page & respect each others time blocks & appointment times with each other. We are so excited to work as a team on this & really help each other be better & do better. I love having a team that is willing to trust & try new things. We will learn together & become more balanced.

I will continue to work on all of these disciplines!

Thank you,

Tammy Smith
