It was so exhilarating completing the first class with the entire team! I am truly excited for the toolsets that this class is going to equip us with to be an even more effective team and leaders.

I also think the class and learnings set the stage for what I think was one of the most productive and healthy leadership quarterly meetings that we have had the following day. Now the challenge will be not to forget the tools as they become less "new".

As an instinctive rescuer, I can say that a year later after implementing the tools I am much more a coach to my team than I was before. It was a struggle at first to make the distinctions between the two, but like all things with practice and game filming it got easier to see. One great learning my coach taught me is that as a coach you can still fly close enough to your team, so that if something terrible is about to happen you can go in to rescue. With that advice, it has allowed me to let go of a lot of the "weeds" I was in, and only step in to rescue when there is a situation where there could be a large negative impact to the company or success of a project.
