FISBE & Wristband Shannon Schaul 02 Dec 2018 22:18 UTC

Pele Team,

Hope everyone has had a great weekend!

FISBE: Monica and I made up the tele class together and had a great conversation. It was interesting that we both have situations where we find ourselves extremely frustrated during certain meetings with certain individuals and also allow ourselves to get worked up even before the meetings begin in anticipation of how they will go. The techniques described in the class, such as taking deep breaths, will be very helpful before heading into the recurring situation but I also think that the pause will be key for me. I have a tendency to react quickly a.k.a knee jerk reaction and pausing has helped greatly in other situations and need to apply it here. In many other situations since I started Stagen, I have been successful at moving from Victim to Creator and it has been such a liberating feeling to be rid of the anxiety it was bringing in those situations. Not sure why this one situation has been so much harder but confident I will make the shift!

Wristband: I have not been wearing the wristband or something similar as I honestly forgot about it. I started wearing a hair band on my wrist Friday and found it very helpful this weekend when dealing with a stressful situation where two of my best friends are divorcing each other. It forced me to pause and be aware of how I reacted, what I said and to simply listed and ask questions. I realized that I tend to be rescuer with certain friends vs. coach and was able to take a different approach.

Looking forward to seeing most of you at the dinner and the rest of the group in class Tuesday!
