Hi everyone,

I wanted to let you know that this week I had a one day trip extended to a 3 day trip, which in the past was very difficult on my relationship with my wife.

Over the last year + I have been giving my full attention to my wife when talking to her, I put my phone down and let the kids know that we are talking and my wife has been giving me more time together to talk.  Our time has been very very good and it has been getting progressively longer because it is so productive for both of us to discuss each others day, whats  coming up and anything else.

When I called Sheila on Wed night and told her I couldn't be home until Friday, she jokingly said so your just staying out of town to avoid trash night.  I find myself talking more to her by phone, which I would much rather do in person.  I am confident that the active listening is helping my relationship at home as well as work.
