Today's call Jim Wilhelm 15 May 2019 18:53 UTC
Jim and I had a good discussion during our breakout about how we both felt that we played in the green, blue and orange mindsets in different situations and mainly not in red if at all.

When we discussed how the 3rd quarter course learning was being applied at work I gave an example that came up at the end of last week with one of our sales team members.

After discussing with our President, who is also taking an ILP class now, we came to the conclusion that this team member is mainly blue and that he expects the rules to be followed. He was formerly in the military and then raced high speed racing boats, in which you had to follow the rules and/or processes. He is now in a sales job where we have rules but being in sales we need the rules to sometimes be guidelines or at least fluid to be able to be adjusted as needed to win. After we spoke about this the President game me a few examples where I had done this naturally and that we need to work with this sales team member to make sure he is doing what is right for the business versus right for following the rules. We are a small to medium size company and need to be flexible to change the rules if needed and if it is the right thing to do.

Off to Cincinnati if in another hour :)
