Agree with Alfonso, powerful stuff and complex in so many ways. One of the interesting takeaways for me is reminding myself it's not about how I feel or about me. In a leadership role it's about understanding the zones people live in and that each zone has good things and destructive things. This is difficult for me as I want to editorialize in my mind while I am talking with someone because "personally" I have other feelings that sometimes are opposite of what they are saying....deep breathing, pausing, and recognizing my inner state helps me "steady my ship" :)

Subject: Tele Call today

Friends,

I can’t begin — or end — explaining how powerful today’s call was. In the breakout session with Jim and David, each of us had different mindsets preferences and “allergies." Jim and David had made their homework and clearly explained the why behind their mindsets (I tried to do the same, my reasons go back to a dominant mother of course) And the way the explained their mindsets opened a whole new window of understanding (I’ll stop short of calling it compassion) and I would dare to say rewired my brain right then and there. While I need more time to process it, I can already say that out of all our Weds calls / Tele calls, I will never forget this one.

Hugs

Alfonso M.
