Hi team,
I believe my top mindsets are:
#1 orange - not as much to win for me, but for our company and the people that have been here for years supporting their families. We are a smaller company and have hit our bonus goal 3 times of the last 11 years. Even though our company employees do not count on the bonus as part of their annual income it is a great bump when we do hit it. Our new president has tasked our sales team to increase samples by 15% a year, which we have done this year + more and to do the same going forward to ensure we can pay bonus every year. We are working smarter and it is really exciting for me and my team to win in the right accounts that are profitable and that will help us make bonus which helps the entire company.
#2 blue - I am a traditional person in the fact that I share the beliefs of our company values that were developed by the owner of our company: trust, passion, courage, team, innovation and win. I like knowing the chain of command, who I report to and who reports to me in order to divide the work load in order to ensure each task is completed on time.
My third would be red (at least somewhat red) - since I was 13 I worked at my grandfather's lumber mill and before I was 16 I was running a chainsaw, driving bulldozers, semi-trucks and other large equipment. I was a young boy and it was a small family business with my two uncles really running the day to day and a few of my cousins helping. It was very clear who the boss was for each task and a lot of it was very dangerous work. We had to follow the rules, there was a lot of yelling which bothered some of the group but not me. I was yelled out but never felt I would be hit but I did know that if I didn't do the job correctly either me or someone else could have been hurt badly if not killed.
My last would be green - I have the least experience in this mindset. I feel we do work in this area now as a leadership team and I love discussing issues and determining what needs to be addressed and who will own the task, but once we are finished someone needs to own it and be responsible for the conclusion or I don't feel, based on history, anything gets done.
