Telling myself stories Jim Wilhelm 07 Mar 2019 20:54 UTC
Hello everyone,

I had to drop off ten minutes early from yesterday's call due to taking off, Jeff thanks for a great breakout.

After I landed I went into the office to review samples going to our largest customer, they looked great and asked my teammate to have them labeled before our sample department packed them up and shipped them out. She agreed so I had a committed action. I was tired because of three late nights with customers, suppliers and industry members.

About ten minutes from home I received a call from our product development department that my samples were not going out because my teammate just left.

Right away I assumed I upset her OR that she had no intention of following through OR that I was not clear, so I called her and she did not pick up which then to me verified that I was right.

However, 2 minutes later she called me ask asked what I needed. I explained that the office called me and told me that our samples could not go out and that I was telling myself that I may have not been clear on expectations. She explained to me that she labeled all items and got with the manager of the sample department who was packing up our items as she left because she was told that she was not needed for the rest of the night. She told me that if I would like that she go back to the office to double check that she would for me. Based on what she had done and told me that was not necessary.

I jumped to a conclusion right now without not giving her the benefit of the doubt. She did a great job and I learned that I could trust her even more going forward.

FYI, have a great night everyone!!
