We have used this before in our weekly Sr. Leadership meetings and it can be very helpful. We have historically called it tribal mode and we would even use a "token" (rubber ball, stress ball, etc.) that would be passed from person to person and whoever had the token had the floor, all others were to be actively listening and taking notes. It works well when we invoke it and it insures that everyone has a moment to be heard. Pretty cool...
