This week I had a tough moment with my COO.  First, please know she is the epitome of diligence, hence why this is even more worth sharing.  She submitted a hugely incomplete response to an audit from NY DOL and when I caught it, I felt frustrated, overwhelmed, and panicky that me, the not-so-detailed one should have to be the one to catch sloppy work and trouble shoot how to fix. And customary of all perfectionists, her response to being called out to suss through how that unfolded together and trouble shoot for the future had her very defensive and not owning why that would have been alarming to me.  The story I’m telling myself is that she’s so sensitive about direct feedback she’s going to quit over it. Frightening for me.  Sigh.
