I listened to both JFK speeches and I realized something interesting.  He didn't use negative words after the positive.

For example...
He said, "We have examined where we are strong and where we are not, where we may succeed and where we may not."

Interesting that he didn't say "where we are strong and where we are weak, where we may succeed and where we may fail."

I like it...interesting concept to ponder.
