hello Mead!

Well, work is going well.  I have lots, and I mean lots, of military/blue people in my department and organization.  During an active listening session with a faculty that has 15 years of military experience I got a BIG does of the blues.  “I am 100% loyal”  “I will do my duty and absolutely support you with our work together”.  Turns out he has been “sucking it up” in his department role for 7 years and absolutely burned out.  I think he loves the job, but it's killing him.

My response was we have to have committed work toward our mission, but that includes your well-being.  That is part of the equation.  I have to understand this mindset extremely well.  My emersion trip will be to a military base to try and figure this out.
