Hello Mead!

I have been meeting lots of new people at work.  In my department I have been using Active Listening a lot.  I am finding the most important part of this skill is asking the “right” open ended question and going through the door that is open.  It has been great.  I have learned lots of things that I never thought people would share so early in a business relationship.

All the parts of Active Listening - Questioning / Reflecting / Empathizing / Clarifying / Summarizing - are important, but asking the right question and going through the opened door fuels this process.
