I agree totally with Anthony. I’m glad you’re able to see the fruits of your turn-around plan but regret the amount of daily issues/chaos/victim-mindset/red-land/unconscious communication that you have to manage in order to get there.
Good thing you’re a blackbelt!

Brian thanks for sharing this post. I am sorry that having to handle this individual made you feel manipulative but it sounds like this person is toxic and that you did your best to diffuse the situation. Congratulations on your results.
After reading your posts now for many months I am always taken by how you persevere in a very tough environment. They are lucky to have you!

Friends,
Recalibration meets creator/coaching mindset on top of using an integral thought process (organ, blue, green and sometimes red) with active listening thrown
in for good measure.
Had a horrible, horrible interaction today with my shareholder. He’s been very quiet for the past few months and came into my office today. He started off
with a lie and ended with a complaint that was disguised as a question. This time, instead of getting frustrated, I practiced active listening, probed on his red mindset by asking (“What would people think if he failed?”… “how would you answer to your wife
if this action created a catastrophe?”…. “you need to use your POWER and take back control of the field”.. Etc). He hit me a few times by asking questions that implied I was lying to him, letting him down etc…. But instead of getting triggered, I recalibrated
silently and turned the questions back to him as an active listener and played to his red power mindset in a creator way.
Here’s my rub… this was a total manipulation by me to get him out of my office. Not a very honorable thing to do to your shareholder but he is so destructive
to his own organization (and my sanity). I then got triggered by my manipulation and had to take a walk to recalibrate again. I’m over it but still don’t feel great that I have to manipulate my stakeholder to get him out of the way to save his company. Strange
place.
PS – we finally implemented a version of my turn around plan and we are profitable for 2 months in a row (hasn’t happened since 2015)…. Yes, my achiever mindset
is alive and well.
