This week I had the opportunity to spend significant time with one of our new hires. I was very deliberate in my active listening with him and tried to do it as often as possible. I have several personal matters that are prevalent in my thoughts right now and by focusing on my active listening and telling myself that I am going to listen actively, it helps push some of the other personal matters to the side so I can focus at what's in front of me.
