Adding on to Scott's observation, I was also keyed into the role that emotions and FISBE play in the one's ability to master the art of a "Positive No". Negative emotions lodge you squarely in the Three A-Trap - Accommodation ( driven by fear), Attack ( by anger), Avoidance (false pretense). Positive emotions on the other hand, drive different behaviors- Creator, Protector, and Agent of change, which with practice will lead to better results and stronger relationships in the PPN construct.

I'm enjoying the discussion of the Power of Positive No. Interestingly, it seems the discussion of PPN mirrors the DDT. A Rescuer accommodates, a Persecutor attacks, and a Victim avoids.

Given my unique position as the co-head of a new business unit I am incredibly accustomed to the power of an iffy positive no...not always as productive as it might sound.

GoOOD Afternoon!

As a follow on to prioritizing and making Deliberate Trade-offs, we'll be talking about the Power of a Positive No (aka PPN or PoPN) on the Teleclass this Thursday. And here's how to prepare:

  * Read the Power of Positive No
  * Review any notes you took during the workshop
  * Bring at least one example of a situation where you have a hard time saying, 'no'
  * Bring at least one example of a request you need to make of someone; perhaps something you need to delegate or simply a task you need help with

That should do it!

We look forward to our call on Thursday!
