Leveraged team management

As you guys know I am highly focused on leveraged team management principles. Here are some examples of my practice this month
tops down / bottoms up = this was used in last week's retreat where Geoff and I provided clarity in the annual plan including the strategy (operational excellence), the KPIs, and company 2x2 and then allowed each department to define how they will best achieve these. I am also using the "solution zone" concept I sent out last week where I define more of the what and why we do things and let others figure out the how and when.
Look for the under utilized resource = I am pushing Geremy to look for hidden resources in helping us achieve certain things like driving up warranty % and online reviews, reducing the number of lenders we use, etc
Seek first to understand = hired Any Ross to do an in depth one on one interview with every CEO to uncover how we can improve the work experience for this position and drive up engagement
Invest early = we used this in our retreat prep and are also spending 4-6 weeks looking at adjustments to the sales pay plans. This allows us not to rush to get something in place that could have a huge impact
Prioritize = this is what we use the corp and department 2x2s where we drafted our 2016 key priorities and now will begin the process of updating to what we will do achieve in Q1
Use templates = the consistent use of our 2x2s, focus area maps and I am personally using the 5 min prep sheets as is Geremy.
with care,
Steve Hall
