Reacting to different mindsets

I deal with many orange/blue mindsets in our business. I live in a neighborhood that is predominately orange/blue. Being orange/green requires me to interact with opposing colors regularly. When I was younger this was harder for me to deal with but as I have aged I am more comfortable with people's differing viewpoints. There was a time when I would spend a great deal of time trying to persuade opposing views. Today, I try and listen more (thanks to Stagen).
I had two great blue encounters last week and both were with one of my managers. I am encouraging him to listen and not react. He is frustrated by a break in protocol and refuses to communicate with one of his sales reps that broke the protocol. Very blue. I listened to his frustration and encouraged him to schedule series of discussions. Being blue he would probably like for me to "tell" him what to do. I am more inclined to make suggestions and see if he takes the bait.
