RE: Attention management and doing one thing

Hi Elliot,
Thanks for posting. This has been one of my first hectic travel weeks after settling into Stagen and I definitely had a more difficult time staying above water and proactive as you mentioned below. I'm not sure if you are on the road a bunch or it's something else but for me I noticed that when my in-the-office-off-the-road routine changed things got much tougher. I'm still "gamefilming" it but I know that the time gains I'd noticed over the last few weeks weren't there this week.
Regards,
Ian Cook

Subject: Attention management and doing one thing
HI everyone-
I tried to send this a while back but it bounced (I sent it from the wrong e-mail address). Hope everyone is well...
Elliot
I've been practicing doing one thing with fairly good success. The airplane mode on my phone has become my best friend and my staff has been respectful of my closed door (it helps that it's a huge warehouse door at the end of a hallway - the polar opposite of Anne's situation). I still fight the urge to check texts and emails, but for the most part I can maintain focus and I've been able to get a lot done.
However, while the weekley planning and concentration have helped me get more done, I find that I'm not getting back those 3-5 hours a week. This is leaving me exhausted and making the Stagen work harder to fit in amongst my work duties. I'm not sure if I have too much to do, if I was behind, or if maybe I'm not applying the concepts correctly. Is anyone else experiencing this? As I look at the attention zones, I am staying in proactive territory, but I'm missing the restorative piece. I've got to find time to refresh. And I still need to find those extra hours...
I tried some new delegating this week with my operations guys after talking with Cindy, hopefully that frees up some time.
Best-
Elliot
