The least resonant mindset for me would be autocratic. I don’t have two recent specific examples of communications with an individual with an autocratic mindset, I have had plenty in the past.
I do however want to reflect on how I’ve been paying more attention to how people communicate and trying to infer what mindset they embody. The differences stood out to me in a recent group text with friends that I’m planning a trip to Chicago. During our text conversation, I started to noticed how the different mindsets surfaced in the way questions were being asked and answered. I can specifically noticed a difference between what I perceived as friends with a pluralistic and power-centric mindsets. The difference between trying to obtain a consensus within the group of what to site see and where to make dinner reservations (giving options, suggestions, menu’s to look at) compared to a more assertive statement with the name of the restaurant, exact date and time of the reservation. It was an interesting observation and I actually preferred my autocratic friend’s more definitive response.
