Re: Natural Leadership Style

The leadership style I want to continue to develop is the collaborative leadership. Although, I consider myself collaborative in nature, in reflection, I have noticed where there is conflicting solutions or pathways to a solution, If I’m not thoroughly convinced by my team to stray from the path I think we should go, the Authoritarian Leadership in me comes out and makes the final decision. I tend to be correct however, I know that there are more than one correct answer. As I’ve grown, I’ve learned to put more trust on my team, even though I may not fully agree with the decision, and let the decision ride. One, I know I’m not always right, although I think it was 2008 when I was last wrong… lol. Two, sometimes you have to let your team take some wrong turns for them to learn on their own….

The times that I've noticed where I'm not motivated or am slacking are the times where either I don't have clear objectives or where I have not set personal goals for me to reach. This leadership style works well with my entrepreneurial spirit. I don't need to have someone give me clear objectives and motivate me, I can see the big picture and self-motivate myself by creating goals to advance towards it.
