With the Holiday season I get to travel to the stores to do holiday readiness walks and celebrate all the great things that stores have planned for great execution. I have one store that had been struggling for a long time and ended up being new leadership in the store. I was not sure how the team members of the store were going to be since I have not been in the store since the sales & financial performance has turned around. (It went from my lowest performing store to the highest in less than 4 months) It was great to sit down and listen to all the great things that the store has been doing from all the team members. There was one Team Leader that was always complaining and having excuses for everything that was not right. I swear I was talking to completely different person and he told it was something I said to him the last visit. He said no one ever took the time to listen to him and be completely honest with him. Really all I did was let him know that I knew he could do great things if he started being a cheerleader for his team and take the time to invest in his team & training. Then I also learned that we recently sent him to help support another store that was struggling and was glowing from that experience.
