Mistaking Victim for Rescuer
Keaton Turner 15 Jul 2019 02:06 UTC
A light switched on in my head this evening.. I believe I am normally a rescuer, my mind was made up. When a problem pops up, I take action and “rescue” the person that didn’t or couldn’t take care of the problem themselves. I say it all the time, “I put out fires all day”.
In reality, I play the VICTIM role almost every single time. A problem arises, I feel the anxiety/stress/pressure, and it affects the way I react - just as FISBEE lays out. I am normally caught in the vicious cycle of being the victim and I am beyond thankful FISBEE helped me realize this. It will help shape the way I think about my daily “fires” from now on.
