Happy Memorial Day.

I found it interesting that doctors (other than surgeons), stock brokers and other professionals are less effective as they get older versus younger professionals in their field. I began to think about it and it is the same in my field as well as I have been a knower when it comes to sales techniques, getting clients in the door, etc. The younger people who do not have the experience tend to try new things and sometimes they bring in business with techniques that I have never thought of. As we get older, we tend to be more complaisant.

For the most part, I tend to lean to a learner mindset, as I do not have to be the smartest person in the room. I listen to my clients needs, ask them what they are looking for and customize a solution that fits. Another learner aspect of my life right now is parenthood as we just had our 3rd child. There isn't a manual for parenthood, thus I have been reading, asking friends for advice in an effort to constantly improve my parenting skills.
