My preferred approach is that of the Learner. But as someone mentioned in an earlier post when time gets tight and deadlines are approaching I find myself slipping into Knower mode. The learner approach takes longer and more patience. Sometimes I feel a little like Yoda trying to teach a young and inpatient Luke Skywalker. “Jedi not yet you are.” Is a quote I use when my team wants the answer without doing or understanding the work that goes behind it. Yes, I actually use that quote - and yes it shows how old I am. When I give someone an answer it may solve the problem for the hour or day but it doesn’t help develop or strengthen them or my team. It doesn’t help them look ahead and develop the skills that they need to be successful. So I need to slow down, focus, breath, become calm and work to be in Learner mode. Craig
