One of our other salesman had a customer that showed up and the salesman wasn't there. I went down to help him since it was a simple test drive. But, the car ended up not being there so we had to get it brought over. The customer was in a rush, so I ordered the car and stayed with him to help the time go by for him. He began to tell me about what he did, why he was buying a new car, what he wanted out of his new car. as each topic came up I used the active listening techniques taught to us and really engaged with the customer. He only planned of test driving the car, but I used some of the information I had learned from our conversation to help close the deal that day.
