Teleclass #4 recording Sachs, Marc (Ext. 226751) 16 Apr 2018 03:18 UTC

I listened to the call and here are my thoughts and responses:

Breakout 1 - speak about one time I was in drama triangle and made shift:

I feel like I can make the shift to the empowerment dynamic without much effort when I am trying to be a coach or challenger. I am still struggling to recognize when I am acting like a victim until I am reflecting back on the situation after the fact. With that said, one example I have is that I tend to feel like a victim when our COO doesn't immediately update me on a few things going on with the business. The last time it happened however, I gave him the space and time to discuss when he was ready. It created a much more engaging and effective conversation.

Breakout #2:

Part 1: The pattern that is becoming most important to me is the victim mindset that many of the next generation family members feel because they don’t have (in their minds) enough influence over the business.

Part 2: what tax does being a victim take: Being a victim takes more energy. When I realize I have been a victim, which occurs most of the time once the dust has settled, I replay the conversation over and over again in my head. Every time I do so, I get frustrated and disappointed in myself. Which makes me feel like I am a victim of my own persecution! And, there you have it, I am deep in the vicious cycle. It can be exhausting.

Poll question:

I definitely have different role trends: I am the rescuer at home and the persecutor at the office.
