Subject: Mindsets and Marriage
In a very interesting coaching call today with Nathanael, we ended up talking about the recent Supreme Court ruling on gay marriage. After his probing a bit, I made a statement like,
"I think a perfect marriage is where the energy of each of person counters the other's while the two of them being able to constructively make decisions to move the relationship forward".
His response was how "Orange" that view was. And I saw that clearly after he said that. It made me want to express views of marriage through other lenses as well.
"A perfect marriage is between a man and a woman that allows them uphold their collective traditions and pass them down through their children" - Blue
"A perfect marriage is union of two people that is loving, mutually respectful and supportive. It allows each of the two to become more than the two could be individually" - Green
"A perfect marriage is one where my spouse selflessly supports my personal and professional pursuits and allows me to live to my full potential." - Red
I continue to find the mindsets as a great way to turn judgment and reaction into curiosity and exploration.
Happy Fourth everyone. Stay safe and have a blast!
