committed action observations... slow down to speed up

a couple quick observations to share from my experience doing this exercise:
1) when the effective request (clear owner, clear deadline, clear expectation of expected result) is made along with a committed response (clear acknowledgment), there was a much much higher % of successful outcomes. nothing earth shattering here.
2) i've noticed with my team, sometimes we discuss many items in a 10-15 minute timespan, we may cover 4-7 topics and do not always take the time to "unpack" the issues, break down each item, discuss it, and then decide on committed action. i noticed this has happened on more than a couple occasions. interestingly, and in retrospect, i think i need to slow down more and to be more deliberate about conversations and tasks with my team. ...my intuition is telling me that slowing down with the team, will ultimately allow us to speed up more in the future.
