Addicted to Raisins? Brock Coleman 31 Oct 2014 03:40 UTC

I hunger for making mindfulness and a state of full presence, my default place rather than my "strive to get to” place.
One practice I’ve added in relates to the raisin exercise that we experienced in Dallas.

So, when I notice that I am not in the desired mindful state, I take the small box of raisins our of my front pocket (easily accessible), and simply put one in my mouth.
I repeat the exercise, and recall Rick’s words “Who is the Raisin?”.
When doing this, I have been able to instantly bring a heightened state of awareness to who or what I am experiencing.

I really like being present. I truly crave being in the moment. Heaven on earth might actually be all around us every second of every day, and we are blind to it because we are too busy to notice.
When I am in a heightened state of awareness, I can’t help but notice colors more vividly, feelings more deeply, and my connections with others deepen. No matter what, I get happy!!

Not sure how long I am going to need to raisins to help "get into the moment”, and I may actually get addicted to them in the process, but if that is the trade off - bring it!

Just thought I would share, no need to reply.

With gratitude,

Brock
