Who knew such a simple "tool" could be so effective.

I have just started on Filter rampage and am loving the results so far. I have a top level folder called "aaFilters" and subfolders/labels of filtered content.

It has starting turning my Inbox from a noisy shopping mall to something a heck of a lot more manageable and focused. I've also been more vigilant about unsubscribing from older unwanted emails.

I have found that I go to the "filtered" folders when I have time/interest/need in dealing with the topics and they don't feel they are interrupting/distracting me anymore.

With emails I have been asking myself, "Did I need to see this now?" and if not, "Can I make a rule?'. Looking forward to getting my friends/family emails separated out.

For the past 25 years, I have received my mail at PO Box so that I can batch process mail when I want and have time. This feels like that in spades. Looking forward to the calm and focus in my inbox.
